S3 Retail Experience

09 MAR 2018

Forty pupils from S3 were out in Dumfries town centre this week as part of the Dumfries Retail Project.

The Dumfries Retail project is aimed at introducing students to the opportunities and careers that exist locally in the retail industry. Pupils visited Marks and Spencer, Boots, Debenhams and Barbour's. They were given tours of the stores and listened to talks from different members of staff. The pupils were excited to take on the opportunities afforded to them, such as organising Departments. One group even had a chance to dress a mannequin.

The project will run for a further year. The aim of the project is that pupils will open their own pop-up shop in the Loreburn Centre in the Summer of 2019.
