Pupil Voice
Pupils are nominated by their peers and have to present to their year group the reasons why they would make good pupil council representatives.
The pupils in the relevant year group vote for their candidates and there are three students voted on to the council to represent each year group. The pupil council is chaired by the James Wilson, Head Boy and Megan McIsaac, Head Girl and minutes are recorded by the Minute Secretary.
Each pupil council representative will serve for two years to build a bank of experience. There is a calendar of meetings, once per month, throughout the school year and the pupils have been involved in major projects such as the school uniform review, Respectful Behaviour Code and the new school dining facilities. The pupils take the work of the council very seriously and it is developing as a major decision making body within the school. Pupil council representatives are major contributors at such occasions as year group meetings, open evenings and awards ceremonies.
